Moving to the USAMoving to the USA

America is one of our most popular destinations to relocate individuals and families. The United States is the world’s fourth-largest country with 50 geographically diverse states and although we move customers all over the USA, there are definitely a few more popular destinations. Here we have put together a quick go to guide for moving to our most popular places.

Moving to LA

Los Angeles is the second largest city in the USA, situated in the south of California it is widely thought of as the capital of the international entertainment industry. LA is a big bustling metropolis so we would encourage you to find your feet, ditch your car and wander around to really get your bearings. Mooch around the Farmers Market, head over to downtown LA for some delicious street food or sing the night away at a Karaoke night in Koreatown – you can literally travel the world in a day in LA! With a Mediterranean climate, beach front locations and an abundance of attractions, you will never be board after your move to LA.

Moving to New York

Situated on one of the world’s largest natural harbours, New York City is probably the world’s most iconic city. Around 800 languages are spoken in NYC making it the most linguistically diverse city in the world, and with a population of over eight million within 305 square miles it is also one of the most populous. Like most major cities expect accommodation to be expensive, but with so many diverse neighborhoods you have a real choice of different areas to live in. If you want to rub shoulders with celebrities and budget isn’t a problem check out Tribeca, if it is culture you are after try Harlem and if you are on a shoestring head to St. George.

Moving to San Francisco

As the second most populated city in the USA, San Francisco has a lot to offer its expat community. The city is home to some of the America’s most quintessential landmarks including the infamous Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and the oldest China Town in the USA (and largest Chinese community outside of Asia). The city itself is set among steep rolling hills, playing host to the iconic cable cars, with an eclectic mix of architecture from Victorian houses with big bay windows to ultra-modern homes. San Francisco is defined by its diverse neighbourhoods; if you want a family feel head to Noe Valley or if you are after a “Hipster” lifestyle then head for Mission District.

Moving to Orlando

Made famous by Walt Disney as the chosen location for Disneyworld, this former swamp land draws millions of visitors per year. With an abundance of theme parks and waterparks, attractions in Orlando are as much for the local residents as they are for the tourists.  If you’re a fan of the arts then there’s a lot to see, from ballet and opera to museums and galleries. Situated in Orlando, the University of Central Florida is the second largest university in the USA, offering 212 degree programmes. So if you’re off to university for the first time or are a lifelong learner, there is something for everyone!
