Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update: December 2021

Further to the UK Governments’ statement on 9th December, in which the announcement was made regarding the adoption of “Plan B” in the fight against the Omicron variant and further announcements by the Scottish and Welsh Governments, the home moving market remains open.  People looking to move home across the UK can continue with their planned removals so long as they adhere to the public guidelines set out by the Government.  The Scottish government have asked people to significantly step up and increase compliance with existing protections.  At Clockwork Removals we continue to follow the public health guidelines for the removals and storage industry to ensure the highest levels of safety for both customers and crew members alike.

Please note that Government advice is changing on a regular basis and therefore rest assured that our procedures will remain under constant review and will be updated in line with recommendations.  The current advise is that all customers (unless medically exempt) must wear face masks when interacting with our crews.  However, due to the physical nature of the work, our crews cannot always wear masks.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and support during these unprecedented times.  Please do get in touch with your local office if you have any questions on a forthcoming move, where we will be delighted to assist and advise.

Following the new Government guidelines outlined on Wednesday 13th May, we felt it important to keep you updated on our current status. Clockwork Removals are proud to provide removals and storage services nationwide, however, due to Government easing restrictions being limited to certain areas of the UK, only our English branches will resume their operations at this time. Our Scottish branch network will remain contactable for enquiries, quotations and virtual surveying until further notice.

In agreement with both Government and the advice of the British Association of Removers (BAR), we will be adhering to strict guidelines set out to ensure the highest levels of safety for both customers and crew members alike. We would like to thank our customers for their patience over the past weeks, we will be looking to complete any paused moves as quickly as possible as well as welcoming any new enquiries and bookings.

We are able to survey new enquiries and provide quotations, either through our virtual video surveying technology, a telephone survey or a home visit. Our video surveying tool is a great way to ensure all parties meet the social distancing measures and any safety issues are minimised. However, we do understand that this is not possible in all cases and therefore we are able to offer a surveyor appointment where necessary, this is subject to strict guidelines, please contact your local Branch to discuss this further.

We would like to thank you for your understanding and support during these difficult times and please rest assured that we are doing all we can to ensure the safety of both our staff and customers. The operation of our English network of branches is strictly conditional upon any further government updates and we will continue to monitor the ever-changing situation and update our customers and services accordingly.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update 23 rd March 2020

Our Policy

The current situation surrounding COVID-19 is something nobody could have predicted. Our main goal is to keep our customers and employees safe whilst providing our high quality removals service. We are constantly checking verified platforms for information during this time and we will update this policy in alignment with government advice and protocols.

It is difficult to plan for moves several months in advance as we cannot predict the severity of the situation in the future. That said, we will do our best to carry out all moves until the government states that it is unsafe to do so.

We have put procedures in place based on information provided from the NHS to ensure that all of our staff members are following necessary hygiene standards and we would ask all clients to follow government guidelines on hygiene and social distancing whilst visiting our stores, offices and where possible, during a removal.  We do have our video survey service as an option, so if you would prefer a no-contact survey, get in touch with us and we can arrange this for you.

Many of our office staff are now working from home where they can continue to provide you with information about your move, take payments and phone calls.

Staff have been told not to come to the office if they are unwell and to self-isolate for the recommended period by the Government.  Currently 14 days, but this may change, and Clockwork Removals will follow any updated recommendations.

Office staff, surveyors and removals crews are encouraged to maintain the very highest levels of personal hygiene at all times by washing hands regularly (for at least 20 seconds with soap and water) and hand sanitisers are available to all crew and staff.

For international moves, we are monitoring the changes taking place throughout Europe and the rest of the world. Some countries are closing their borders which could in turn have an effect on your move. We recommend phoning our international team and they will be able to provide you with all the information regarding potential delays. You can contact them directly at international@clockworkremovals.co.uk.

At Clockwork Removals, we want to keep our employees and customers safe as they are at the heart of everything we do. We are adhering to all NHS advice and government guidelines in all of our branches throughout the UK to minimise the risk.  We wish everyone to stay safe and well in these difficult and unprecedented times and will remain contactable under all circumstances.
